Villa determined to bounce back - Knight
Aston Villa, 11:18, February 17, 2009 ,
Zat Knight believes Aston Villa must bounce back from their FA Cup exit starting with the Uefa Cup clash against CSKA Moscow.
The 3-1 defeat to Everton on Sunday brought to an end Villa's run of 16 domestic matches without defeat which stretched back to November just as Martin O'Neill's side come into a run of crucial fixtures.
However, Knight is convinced that the defeat at Goodison Park will just make Villa even more determined to do well this season, starting with CSKA Moscow on Wednesday night before Chelsea arrive at Villa Park on Saturday.
"These are two crucial games for our season. We have to bounce back quickly from the disappointment of going out of the FA Cup. We have to get over this and try to continue our good season," said Knight.
"The cup defeat has made us even more determined to hit back. We'd not lost for a long time and it wasn't a nice feeling. We conceded three goals after keeping a lot of clean sheets, so we must get back to that standard.
"We must go back to Villa Park and show the fans we still want success, that we still want to have a good conclusion to the season. 'Moscow will be a difficult game. But we must pull ourselves together after this and show what we are made of."
