Aston Villa will travel to Manchester City in the third round of the Capital One Cup.

Villa secured the first win of the Paul Lambert era as goals from Fabian Delph, Chris Herd and Darren Bent sealed a comfortable 3-0 win over Tranmere at Villa Park while City were beaten 3-2 on aggregate by Liverpool in the semi-final last season. The tie will be played in the week commencing September 24.
