Weimann urges Villa belief
Striker Andreas Weimann has warned Aston Villa they must bounce back from their Cup shockers when they take on Newcastle.
Villa have been knocked out of the Capital One Cup and FA Cup by Bradford and Millwall respectively in the past week and now host fellow strugglers Newcastle in the Premier League on Tuesday in a big game they are desperate to win.
Weimann, who is in talks over a new deal at Villa Park despite their poor form, says now is not the time for Paul Lambert's side to feel sorry for themselves and they must improve when they host the Magpies - with belief the key.
"If you don't believe [you can turn it around] there is no point playing," he said.
"A month or so ago we beat Liverpool and Norwich and then it turned. We have got to stick together as a team now things are not going well."
Villa are 17th in the table - just one point above the drop zone and also one behind Newcastle - and the match is huge for both sides.
Punters may be keen to use their free bet to back Villa to come out of their slump and see off Alan Pardew's men on Tuesday.
