Davey turns down new samba offer
Barnsley, 16:10, June 19, 2009 ,
Barnsley have turned down a fresh offer from Championship rivals Bristol City for midfielder Anderson De Silva.
Tykes boss Simon Davey has confirmed that the Robins had already made one failed offer for the Brazilian playmaker, before making a renewed bid which was also snubbed. And, while he could not rule out selling the former Everton starlet who joined the Tykes in January 2008 following a successful loan spell, he is desperate to keep De Silva at Oakwell.
Davey told the Sheffield Star: "Every player has a price, so we'll have to see what happens.
"I don't want to lose him, Anderson is an integral part of our team.
"Bristol City came in with a bid and we rejected it and then they came in with an improved offer, but that bid was not accepted either."
