Barnsley could be without experienced defender Darren Moore through injury for this weekend's clash at Preston.
The former Bradford and Derby centre-back is an early doubt for the trip to Deepdale after suffering a groin strain in Saturday's 2-1 win over Watford at Oakwell.
Barnsley's medical team will monitor the veteran's progress throughout the week, although Simon Davey is confident he has the cover available should Moore be ruled out.
Davey told the club's website: "Darren went to pass the ball out of defence and felt something in his groin. He knew immediately he couldn't carry on. Luckily for us we had Bobby Hassell on the bench who could come straight into defence."
He added: "I have spoken a lot in the last few weeks about the strength of our squad and we needed that against Watford."
