Robins swoops for Gray

Barnsley, 15:17, September 17, 2009 ,

Free agent midfielder Julian Gray has been snapped up by Barnsley on an initial one-month deal with a view to a permanent contract.

New Reds boss Mark Robins has wasted no time in bolstering his ranks at Oakwell after vowing to bring in several new faces to the squad which secured their first win of the season with a 3-2 success at Derby on Tuesday.
And Gray, who had spells at Crystal Palace, Birmingham and Coventry and spent the final six months of last season on loan at Fulham, has joined them on a free transfer.
Gray's arrival follows on from Slovenia international defender Suad Filekovic, who arrived at the South Yorkshire side on Wednesday for a week-long trial.
