Striker moves in as keeper leaves Tykes
Barnsley, 11:20, June 16, 2009 ,
Barnsley have signed striker Onome Sodje from York City, while goalkeeper Heinz Muller has left to join Bundesliga club FSV Mainz 05.
The 20-year-old Sodje, nephew of Sheffield Wednesday striker Akpo, has signed a one-year contract at Oakwell, with Simon Davey describing him as "one for the future".
Meanwhile, keeper Muller has ended his two-year spell with the Tykes by returning to his homeland in a £600,000 deal.
The 31-year-old, who joined Barnsley for £150,000 from Norwegian club Lillestrom in August 2007, lost his place in the team to Luke Steele towards the end of last season.
Davey insisted: "It's a good deal for the club and for the player and we wish him well. Heinz has been given the opportunity to play in the German top flight and it was the right deal for Barnsley."
