Tykes back in for Gers midfielder

Barnsley, 12:49, June 13, 2009 ,

Barnsley look set to prepare a second bid for Rangers midfielder Charlie Adam after an opening offer was turned down.

The 23-year-old caught the eye on loan at Blackpool last season and the Seasiders want him back for the forthcoming campaign.
But the Tykes started the bidding for Adam with an unsuccessful offer which they are now poised to revise in order to get their man.
Oakwell chief Simon Davey said: "He did very well at Blackpool, played very well against us. What he would bring to the squad is a winning mentality.
"They turned the bid down and there's a price we won't go over so we have to find the right price."
