Birmingham chase Championship right-back

Birmingham City, 11:28, June 18, 2010 ,

Birmingham have upped their offer for Crystal Palace defender Nathan Clyne to £750,000 after their initial bid was rejected.

The financial stricken Championship side are thought to be holding out for £2million but Birmingham have gone in with a second offer much lower than their asking price as they seek to take advantage of their current money worries.
While Palace are unlikely to settle for £750,000 on its own they might be persuaded to part with Clyne if the Blues include a number of add-ons in their deal.
Birmingham are keen to get the deal done quickly with a number of Premier League clubs interested in the right-back, although Alex McLeish's men are favourites.
