Burke wants home fortress

Birmingham City, 11:50, February 7, 2012

Birmingham winger Chris Burke has called on his team-mates to finish the season unbeaten at home.

St Andrew's has been a fortress this season for Blues and they are yet to lose at home, conceding just six goals.
They welcome Portsmouth next and the former Rangers man thinks a win is crucial if Birmingham are to push for an instant return to the Barclays Premier League.
"We want to stay unbeaten here for the rest of the season. It's an important match against Portsmouth, because we've always been playing catch-up and this is our game in hand." the Scot told the club's official website.
A win for Chris Hughton's charges would put them into third position and just two points off Southampton in second, a position they are looking to occupy when the season ends.
"Automatic promotion is what we're striving for. We're in the play-off positions and we want to stay there, but then you have to look forward and the way to look forward is at the top two," Burke added.
