Full-back set for loan spell

Birmingham City, 18:44, February 25, 2010 ,

David Murphy could be heading out of Birmingham City on loan as the full-back looks to regain full match fitness.

Murphy hasn't played for the Blues since last April after fracturing his knee cap against Watford in the Championship.
City boss Alex McLeish thinks a spell away from the club could do him the world of good with other defenders currently in front of him in the pecking order.
McLeish told the Birmingham Mail, "We could be doing with Dave Murphy going out on loan and playing some games now.
"There's a wee bit of interest in the Championship and he would be happy to go and get some action.
"We've got some pretty good cover at the left-back position just now with Gregory Vignal - and Franck Queudrue can also slot in there.
"We don't know what kind of level Dave's at because he's not played for so long.
"But we know his quality and when he's 100 per cent fit he's a very good player."
