Blackburn's summer signing Leon Best was stretchered off during a 2-1 friendly win over Greek side AEK Athens at Fleetwood.
Best, a £3million signing from Newcastle, sustained a serious-looking knee injury and was forced out of the action five minutes before the break.
The 25-year-old will have scans on Monday to determine the full extent of damage.
Rovers opened the scoring in the sixth minute as Nunes Gomes rose at the far post to head home Marcus Olsson's left-wing cross and doubled their advantage just before the half-hour mark through a brilliant strike from Best, who latched on to Danny Murphy's long ball to cut inside and curl a shot into the corner.
Manager Steve Kean made plenty of changes at half-time and Athens pulled a goal back through Nikolaos Kourelas in the 77th minute.
