Newly promoted Reading have been linked with a summer swoop for Blackburn striker Yakubu, who still has two years left on his contract.
Reading will be plying their trade in the Premier League next season after wrapping up the Championship title and boss Brian McDermott is eager to bolster his options in attack. The latest reports suggest he has set his sights on Rovers frontman Yakubu, who has bagged 16 Premier League goals this season, in a team struggling to survive in the top flight. However, it is thought the Royals will only make a move if Blackburn are relegated, as Yakubu still has two years left on his current Ewood Park deal.
