Bowyer back in charge
Blackburn have handed Gary Bowyer the reins for the rest of the season after Michael Appleton was released from his duties today.
Owners Venky's have stunned supporters by opting to axe Appleton after just 15 games - his last match being Sunday's 1-1 draw with Burnley which leaves Rovers four points above the drop zone.
Bowyer, who was put in temporary charge after Henning Berg's short tenure ended earlier this season, took training on Tuesday morning and has been told he has the job until the summer.
Blackburn won three and drew one of the four matches Bowyer officially took charge of, making him by far the most productive of the four managers to have held the post this season.
