Crouch too pricey - Sam

Blackburn have been priced out of a move for Portsmouth striker Peter Crouch as they look to replace Roque Santa Cruz.
Sam Allardyce has £13million to spend following the departure of Santa Cruz to Manchester City but the whole package for the Pompey striker will be too costly.
Pompey would want to at least recoup the £9million they paid to Liverpool, but it is the player's wages, thought to be in the region of £70,000 a week, that would be the problem.
Allardyce is unwilling to smash the club's wage structure to sign Crouch and will have to look elsewhere as he looks to bring in at least one new striker.
