Defender pledges Rovers future

Blackburn Rovers, 15:30, November 17, 2009 ,

Blackburn defender Chris Samba has penned a new deal that is set to keep him at Ewood Park until 2014.

Samba has been a revelation for Rovers and boss Sam Allardyce was keen to tie him down to a new deal. The 25-year-old has now committed his future and chairman John Williams has expressed his delight at the news.
Williams told the club's website: "I am delighted that we have been able to secure Chris on a new long-term deal, which is an important deal for the club.
"It has been richly deserved through his performances over the past few seasons, particularly during the last campaign when he demonstrated a tremendous attitude when playing in an unfamiliar role as a striker".
