Dynamic duo back in harness
Blackburn Rovers, 14:17, January 28, 2009 ,
Jason Roberts and Benni McCarthy are set to start for Blackburn against Bolton with transfer talk again erupting over Roque Santa Cruz.
Former Bolton boss Sam Allardyce has a virtually a full strength squad to select from for the clash, but with Roberts and Matt Derbyshire back in contention, it could mean no place for Manchester City target Santa Cruz.
Chilean striker Carlos Villanueva is also pressing for a place after his brace in the reserves against Man Utd on Monday, but will almost certainly have to settle for the bench.
David Dunn and Andre Ooijer are also available again but Keith Treacy is doubtful and could miss out along with long-term absentee Steven Reid.
Rovers are unbeaten in their last six matches with full-back Stephen Warnock claiming that the recent good run has been down to their new-found resilience in defence.
He said: "Paul Robinson has been almost redundant in recent weeks, which is a great sign for the defence. It's also a good sign for the lads up front, knowing that if we can keep the door shut, then hopefully they can score us the goals that will win us the games."
