Blackburn's Brett Emerton has backed fellow Australian Vince Grella to make a mark at Blackburn Rovers and become a fans' favourite.
Grella is yet to make an impact at Rovers since his £4 million move from Torino in the summer but Emerton believes his fellow countryman will shine in Lancashire and endear himself to the Rovers faithful.
Steven Reid and David Dunn are both injured, with Reid out for the season, but Emerton believes Grella can fill the void left by the injuries and cement himself in the Rovers starting eleven.
"Vince is a fantastic player," Emerton told the Lancashire Telegraph. "Unfortunately, the Blackburn fans haven't had much of an opportunity to see that as yet.
"Knowing Vince, he is definitely looking at the situation as an opportunity to get himself some game-time and show the fans what he is all about.
"He can put a tackle in when he needs to, but he's very comfortable on the ball and his distribution and range of passing is second to none. I think the fans can expect to see that of him.
