Ex-Rovers boss eyes striker

West Ham and Reading are both in for Blackburn striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni who could be available for as little as £1million.
The Nigerian has signalled his intention to leave relegated Rovers, according to reports today, and there will be no shortage of takers with Southampton also possibly ready to enter the bidding.
However, the newly-promoted Saints have turned their attention today to Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez and may see a potential partnership between him and Rickie Lambert as better than one with Yakubu.
Reading and West Ham are also looking to strengthen ahead of their return to the top flight and look like the current favourites to land the ex-Middlesbrough and Everton striker - who scored 17 Premier League goals last season.
The 29-year-old forward, who came close to joining the Hammers two years ago, is represented by agent Barry Silkman who has good relations with the owners at Upton Park.
