Turkish giants Galatasaray are reportedly set to make a swoop to sign wantaway Blackburn Rovers midfielder Mauro Formica.
As we reported earlier in the week a source was quoted claiming the 24-year-old attacking midfielder, who signed for Rovers from Argentinian outfit Newell's Old Boys for £3.5million in January 2011, was hoping to make a summer move to a club in Europe. However, Formica's plans are still up in the air due to the mystery surrounding manager Steve Kean's future and Rovers' owners Venky's continued silence about their plans going into the Championship next season. In the meantime it seems Galatasaray are set to make a bid to try and take Formica out of Ewood Park this summer having lost out to Rovers in the race for his signature 18 months ago. Whether Rovers will allow Formica to leave without a fight remains to be seen as he is still under contract until summer 2014, while the club will definitely look to recoup the money they paid out for his services.
