Paul Ince says Blackburn can start thinking about Carling Cup glory if they can beat Sunderland this evening.
Victory against Roy Keane's men's would put Rovers in the quarter-finals and Ince says there is every chance they can go on and lift the trophy at Wembley in February.
Rovers have home advantage this evening and even though results have not been going well, Ince says confidence is high in the squad ahead of the clash.
"It is a big match as the winners reach the quarter-finals," Ince revealed. "Then you can start thinking about claiming the trophy. A win would also set us up nicely for Saturday.
"It is important to us to have a good cup run, be it the Carling Cup or FA Cup, as it is an avenue into Europe. We may not have won for a few games but the confidence has not been affected as we are playing good stuff."
