Jones goal scant reward
Blackburn Rovers, 17:34, July 28, 2010 ,
Blackburn's poor pre-season form continued as they went down to a second successive 2-1 defeat, this time against AEK Athens.
Rovers struggled in difficult wet conditions at the Festival of Football in Sydney and were 2-0 down at half time thanks to goals for AEK by Ignacio Scocco and Nikos Lyberopoulos.
Sam Allardyce made five changes to the side that lost to Rangers and they did improve as the game wore on with centre-half Phil Jones scoring a late goal to halve the deficit.
Next up for Blackburn is a game against Sydney on Saturday.
