Keeper linked with switch
Blackburn Rovers, 12:51, October 21, 2009 ,
Sheffield United have been linked with a move for Blackburn keeper Mark Bunn after Paddy Kenny lost his appeal against a drugs ban.
Blades boss Kevin Blackwell is understood to be considering strengthening his options in goal after the FA rejected Kenny's appeal against his nine-month suspension.
The 31-year-old Republic of Ireland international, who tested positive for the banned substance ephedrine after last season's Championship play-off tie clash against Preston, challenged the severity of the punishment but an FA statement said: "The decision to impose a nine-month suspension was an appropriate measure."
The suspension dates back to 22 July, meaning that Kenny can return to action in April 2010. The Blades are now said to be planning a move for Rovers keeper Bunn and Sam Allardyce is unlikely to stand in his way.
