Modeste boost for Blackburn

Blackburn have successfully appealed the three-match ban given to Anthony Modeste after his sending-off at West Brom on Saturday.

The suspension has been reduced to one match, which means it was served by him missing Tuesday night's 3-2 defeat to Liverpool. Modeste was given a red card for violent conduct after kicking out at Billy Jones. A statement on rovers.co.uk said: "Today (Wednesday) the FA Commission have heard the case on the grounds of exceptional circumstances and have reduced the punishment to a one-match ban with immediate effect."
