Blackburn's latest signing Nuno Gomes said he sensed "something exciting" was happening at Blackburn after becoming their third summer recruit.
The former Portugal international striker, 35, released by Braga at the end of last season, signed a two-year deal at Ewood Park on Tuesday after turning down offers from MLS, Qatar, Australia and the far east to help Rovers bounce back to the Barclays Premier League at the first attempt. "I'm so looking forward to this opportunity and can't wait to get started," Gomes told the club's official website. "It's clear that something exciting is happening at Blackburn Rovers and I want to be a part of that." Manager Steve Kean, who has also signed Danny Murphy and Leon Best, added: "Not only is Nuno a proven, top international striker, with a great pedigree and hugely impressive scoring record, but he's also renowned for being one of the top providers of assists at every club he has played for. "He is a real 'route-to-goal' player. His passion and desire to want to come here was what really impressed me. He's seen how keen we are to move this club forward and we've also seen just how keen he is to be a part of that."
