Rivals plan Allardyce move

Reports claim Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is on the shortlist to become the next manager of West Ham United.

The Hammers are believed to have drawn up a short list including Allardyce, Blackpool's Ian Holloway, Cardiff's Dave Jones and Portsmouth boss Avram Grant, who remains the favourite to take the reigns at Upton Park. However, Blackburn are likely to rebuff any approach from the Hammers to talk to Allardyce and it appears Grant, who is yet to commit his future to Pompey following their relegation, is a more likely candidate than the Rovers boss.
