Robinson to fight for Three Lions place

Blackburn Rovers, 10:07, October 6, 2009

Blackburn goalkeeper Paul Robinson says he still harbours hopes of becoming England's number one again for the World Cup.

Robinson picked up 40 caps when he was preferred as England's number one before he suffered a dip in form while at Tottenham and since then the duties have been shared between David James, Robert Green and Scott Carson.
Manchester United's Ben Foster is also waiting in the wings but after being included in the squad for the games against Ukraine and Belarus, Robinson is determined to get the number one jersey back.
"It is about consistency," said Robinson. "I am on the fringes of the England squad. But the majority of time I have been getting in. If it comes along, I will just go with it and see where it takes me again."
