Rovers midfielder set for Cardiff switch

Blackburn Rovers, 11:51, January 4, 2010

Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale has revealed that the Championship side have a list of transfer targets which includes Steven Reid.

The Republic of Ireland international has struggled to break back into the Blackburn first team since sustaining a serious knee injury which ruled him out of the 2008-09 season.
Having already had one loan spell with QPR this season Reid has been linked with a second loan spell at another Championship club in order to recapture his form.
With Cardiff currently without two of their first choice midfielders in Stephen McPhail and Gavin Rae Ridsdale says that manager Dave Jones has given him a list of players who he would like to bring to the Cardiff City Stadium during the January transfer.
With Jones having been spotted at Blackburn's FA Cup game with Aston Villa on Saturday, supposedly watching Reid and Villa youngster Fabian Delp, Ridsdale has admitted the club are looking to strengthen their squad.
"The manager was out watching players on Saturday and we fully intend to strengthen the playing squad as soon as possible," Ridsdale told WalesOnline.
"Dave has given me a list of players who would fit the bill and we are working on that."
