Sam holds transfer aces

Blackburn Rovers, 13:23, December 24, 2008 ,

Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce says he does not have to sell Roque Santa Cruz even if a 'big money' offer comes in.

Allardyce has been told he does not need to sell any of his star players when the transfer window opens and the new Rovers boss seems determined to keep hold of Santa Cruz.
The Paraguay ace has revealed he wants to leave Ewood Park but Allardyce says he will decide what happens and has revealed he may decide to keep hold even if a big offer comes in.
"The first thing we have to do with Roque is stop the speculation one way or the other," Allardyce revealed. "Because it is not only rumoured now, it was rumoured at the end of the last window.
"Now the window is coming up again and he has made an indication he wants to leave. From my point of view it is one where I would be very, very reluctant even if big money came in that I would want to sell him.
"My feeling is no one will offer enough for him for us to consider selling him. For me any amount of money is no good to me because there is not any amount of players I could spend it on to make us better than we already are."
