Rovers boss Sam Allardyce has invited giant Ivory Coast defender Steve Gohouri over from Germany for a 'test'.
The Ewood Park boss is reportedly concerned about growing talk of Chris Samba leaving the club and wants to have a look at a potential replacement.
The 28-year-old Borussia Monchengladbach centre-back would be available on bargain fee because he is into the final year of his contract with the Bundesliga outfit.
Gohouri could slot straight into the Rovers back four if Everton or Spurs follow up their rumoured interest in Samba.
