Santa Cruz on Rovers future

Blackburn Rovers, 10:38, May 28, 2009

Man City strike-target Roque Santa Cruz insists he is happy at Blackburn despite recent claims he wants to move to a bigger club.

Blues boss Mark Hughes signed the Paraguay international for Rovers from Bayern Munich in 2007 for a bargain £3.5m and he has since proved himself in the Premier League, although he was troubled by a knee problem last season which restricted his appearances.
Hughes made his move to be reunited with the 27-year-old in January but could not land his man, with Santa Cruz now claiming reports stating he wants to leave Ewood Park have been lost in translation.
He said: "Blackburn is like a family to me and I've always tried to give my best for the club. I've got a lot of friends there and there's a good atmosphere for me to continue.
"There's been a lot of confusion with regard to what I've said to the media here [Paraguay]," he added.
