Skipper reveals Allardyce delight

Blackburn skipper Ryan Nelsen says he is 'very excited' by the appointment of Sam Allardyce and says he will be a big hit at the club.

Allardyce has penned a three-year deal at Ewood Park and Nelsen believes the former Bolton boss is the man to turn things around at Ewood Park and get them climbing the table.

Nelsen says he cannot wait to meet Allardyce and believes it will only be a matter of time before they start picking up results.

"I'm very excited to tell the truth - his reputation is fantastic and I think he will be a big hit at Blackburn," Nelsen revealed. "He's a big character and that's definitely what we need. He's got the experience to come in and know what we need.

"I'm just looking forward to getting into work, meeting him and getting some wins."
