Paul Ince is set to recall Stephen Warnock in place of suspended left-back Martin Olsson for the clash with Portsmouth on Sunday.
The ex-Liverpool player had been operating in central midfield before his suspension, but he is needed to cover at his former position with Olsson serving his ban this weekend.
The Swede was given his marching orders for two fouls on flying Spurs winger Aaron Lennon last Sunday.
Vince Grella (calf) is likely to remain sidelined along with long-term absentees David Dunn (Achilles) and Steven Reid (knee).
