Striker deal done
Blackburn Rovers, 14:21, June 24, 2009 ,
Matt Derbyshire has left Blackburn to join Olympiakos after the Greek giants agreed to pay a fee in the region of £3million.
Derbyshire, who was a revelation with Olympiakos last season when bagging eight goals in 11 games, has penned a four-year deal and follows Roque Santa Cruz out of the exit door.
The England Under-21 star says he is delighted with the move and cannot wait to begin pre-season training.
"I am very happy with this transfer. I wanted to stay at Olympiakos," he said. "I hope to improve myself and become much better next season. I want to score more goals with Olympiakos.
"I am looking forward to going to Austria for the pre-season, it's fantastic the feeling for me. I will try my best to help Olympiakos. With hard work and I hope to succeed."
