Thrilled Allardyce ready to push on
Blackburn Rovers, 12:50, May 13, 2010 ,
Sam Allardyce is happy with the progress Blackburn Rovers have made this past season but wants more improvements next term.
The Ewood Park boss helped Rovers to finish 15th in 2008-09 after a disastrous start to the campaign under Paul Ince's leadership which left them staring relegation in the face. However Allardyce has since steadied the ship and helped the club to a 10th-placed finish in his first full season at the helm.
Despite being happy with his work to date, the former Bolton boss is wanting more progress in 2010-11.
Allardyce told the club's official website: "This year I think it will take a little bit of time to sink in, just on where we've finished now.
"And I think that looking at the last eight games has really thrilled me. We always said that going into that period we wanted to be safe by then, as it was our most difficult period of fixtures that are grouped together."
He added: "It is about us getting better, not resting on our laurels. We must try and improve in all areas yet again and make sure we are that much better."
