Blackburn boss Paul Ince is ready to offer Skonto Riga winger Aleksandrs Cauna a trial as he bids to earn a move in the new year.
Cauna is just 20 but is tipped to have a big future and has already managed to play six times for his native Latvia.
Ince wants to take a look at Cauna in training over the next few weeks and if he impresses, Cauna could be brought in on a permanent contract in the January transfer window.
Meanwhile, Danny Simpson insists the Rovers squad are "together" and believe in under-pressure boss Ince, despite reports the Rovers boss has 'lost the dressing room'.
Simpson said: "Everyone is still keeping each other together inside the club, we have to stick together. You can't ask for any more. We are all playing for ourselves, the fans and the gaffer.
"We still believe in him and we need the fans around the town to have belief in him.
"The performances have been decent but it is just not going for us at the moment. I am sure and the lads are sure once we get a win, we will go on an unbeaten run for a long time," he added in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
"We just need that win to get the confidence going."
