Defender deal close

Blackpool, 15:29, November 2, 2009 ,

Blackpool are set to extend the loan spell of Plymouth defender Marcel Seip by a further two months.

The Frenchman does not have a future with Argyle following a fall out with Pilgrims boss Paul Sturrock but Seasiders chief Ian Holloway is keen to keep hold after he impressed during his initial month.
Seip's loan ended after the Doncaster game on Saturday but talks between the two clubs have been continuing over the last week and it is hoped a permanent deal will be sorted out.
"It is out of my hands and hopefully my chairman, who is talking to them, will be able to sort it," said boss Ian Holloway. "One of the directors at Plymouth who was dealing with it has had a family bereavement and I do feel for him.
"But hopefully my chairman will let me know in the next couple of days what the situation is. The player needs to know because he drove off after the Doncaster game not knowing whether or not he is coming back."
