Craig Cathcart will miss the first-leg of Blackpool's npower Championship play-off semi-final against Birmingham on Friday after suffering a heart scare.
The 23-year-old centre-back was cleared to train on Wednesday morning by a heart specialist but pulled out of the session after suffering further palpitations. Blackpool's on-loan Wigan forward Nouha Dicko was recently sidelined with a similar complaint. "Craig Cathcart has got a bit of a problem around his heart at the moment where he's having palpitations, so we're getting that checked out," said boss Ian Holloway. "He was allowed to train on Wednesday morning but he had a bit of a flutter in the morning on Tuesday so we couldn't let him play. Hopefully we're going to get a monitor and get him checked "His heart is slightly larger than it probably should be. They're going to try and find out exactly what it might mean. We had the same thing the other week with Nouha Dicko but he came through with a clean bill of health so hopefully Cathers will be all right."
