Ollie reveals transfer woe

Blackpool, 16:22, June 29, 2009 ,

Ian Holloway says Blackpool are stepping up their attempts to sign new players but cannot believe the prices being quoted.

Holloway has handed a list on targets to chairman Karl Oyston, who has started to enquire about their availability should they decide to step up their interest and make a bid.
The Seasiders boss is lining up a replacement for Shaun Barker just in case the defender moves on but has been left flabbergasted with some of the valuations that have been mentioned.
"When you go to a lower division club who might be struggling a little bit, they are asking for telephone numbers. It is absolutely ridiculous," said Holloway.
"I have already asked other clubs about their players and given the chairman three or four targets just in case Shaun goes. So they're already lined up to some extent.
"However, the insulting thing is that the people we've inquired about, their clubs are asking for almost more than we've been offered for Shaun. It is a ridiculous situation. It really is."
