Oyston denies Holloway targets
Blackpool, 15:15, June 15, 2009 ,
Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston says he will not put pressure on Ian Holloway over what he feels he should achieve with the Seasiders.
Blackpool will embark on their third straight Championship season in August with new manager Holloway hoping he can improve on the side's last two campaigns.
Osyton claims he does not need to put any pressure on the former QPR and Plymouth boss to improve the Seasiders' squad as he expects to provide just a supporting role to the charismatic manager.
"I'm not going to put any pressure on Ian. I don't need to - I think he is the sort of guy who puts his own pressure on himself, and the supporters will grow to understand that," Oyston told the Blackpool Gazette.
"He doesn't need me to set him a target or say I'm expecting this or that. I see my role as supporting him in the overhaul and implementation of new policy in the areas where there are deficiencies or where we can do better.
"Whatever happens there is going to be maximum effort and maximum science behind the policies we are putting in place, and I do think this is a major step towards us becoming an established Championship club."
