Phillips struggling to be fit

Blackpool striker Kevin Phillips is facing a race against time to be fit for the npower Championship trip to Nottingham Forest.

The former Sunderland hitman has been suffering from a hip problem but was set to return against Barnsley before breaking down in training the day beforehand. It is hoped a trip to see a specialist will resolve the issue. Central midfielder Keith Southern is suspended following his dismissal against the Tykes, which sparked an angry reaction from boss Ian Holloway. Southern will not be eligible until the final game of the season against Millwall. Roman Bednar remains sidelined with medial knee ligament damage and fellow striker Gary Taylor-Fletcher is also out with a shoulder injury sustained in the 2-0 win at Watford on Good Friday.
