Silkmen highlight defensive fears

Blackpool, 16:14, August 13, 2008 ,

Simon Grayson has admitted that Blackpool's defending is worrying him following the side's 2-0 Carling Cup exit at Macclesfield.

The Seasiders followed up their opening day 1-0 defeat to Bristol City in the Championship on Saturday with a dismal showing at Moss Rose against their League Two opponents on Tuesday as they crashed out of the tournament at the first hurdle.
"That is three goals we've conceded now from set pieces," said Grayson.
"It is obviously something that we've got to eradicate because if we are making simple mistakes like that then it puts extra pressure on the strikers.
"And while we are missing the chances that we currently are doing, we've got to then at least try and draw the game 0-0."
