Vaughan set for Spanish return
Blackpool, 18:50, March 27, 2011
Blackpool star David Vaughan looks set to be a player in demand this summer but the most appealing offer could be from Villarreal.
Vaughan is no stranger to Spanish football having enjoyed a previous stint with Real Sociedad and The Mirror claims a return to the country is a serious possibility for the Welsh international.
Sociedad paid £300,000 to Crewe for his services in 2008 but he would only make nine appearances for a club that had been relegated to La Liga Segunda Division. He then came back to England with Blackpool and helped them into the Premier League.
The midfielder, who appeared as a second-half substitute for Wales against England in yesterday's Euro 2012 qualifier, will be a free agent in the summer and is currently weighing up his options.
Sunderland have also shown an interest in Vaughan but the news of interest from the La Liga side, who have designs on qualifying for the Champions League, is believed to have really whetted the 28-year-old's appetite.
