Cambridge confirm Carew exit

Cambridge have confirmed that midfielder Ashley Carew has left the club after just one year at the Abbey Stadium.

The playmaker scored five times in 29 appearances during the 2011/12 campaign, following a summer move from Ebbsfleet and impressed with his all action displays.
However, United boss Jez George has decided not to offer him a new deal for next season and has wished the 26-year-old all the best in finding a new club.
"Ashley is a talented player who started the season well, but we have to look at what is right for the club moving forward," George said.
"We wish Ashley well for his future and hope that he can fulfil his potential at some point in his career."
