Justin Edinburgh has revealed that Newport have offered new contracts to a number of players ahead of Saturday's FA Trophy final.
The Exiles face York at Wembley and the County boss is keen to wrap-up as many new deals as possible before the game so that his players are not distracted going into the match.
Midfielder David Pipe has already confirmed he will stay in Wales for at least another season and Edinburgh says a number of other players are on the verge agreeing new contracts at the Newport Stadium.
"We are working well on that front, I've shaken hands with Pipey and we've just to get that one confirmed," he said. "But I am happy with how it has gone, we've talked to several of the boys about staying and we're close to an agreement with quite a few."
