Exiles snap up Flynn

Former Bradford City midfielder Michael Flynn has rejoined Newport County on a free transfer.
The 31-year-old was released by the Bantams at the end of the season after three years at Valley Parade and becomes Justin Edinburgh's seventh signing of the summer transfer window, rejoining the club where he started his career. Flynn made his debut in professional football for Newport in 1999 before moving on to Barry Town and has since played for seven other clubs, including Wigan Athletic, Gillingham and Blackpool. The midfielder joins fellow new recruit Aaron O'Connor at Rodney Parade. A statement on the club's official website read: "Further to recent speculation, we are delighted to confirm the signing of Michael Flynn who returns to his hometown club. "I am sure you will join everyone in welcoming Michael back to Newport County AFC. "Michael will join our other new recruit Aaron O'Connor in the line up against Merthyr Town FC tomorrow evening. Kick Off 7.45pm."
