Cambridge boss Jez George praised his side's spirit after an impressive 2-0 victory over champions Fleetwood on Saturday.
The U's produced a complete performance to end Fleetwood's 29-match unbeaten run and give the fans at Abbey Stadium something to cheer in the final home game of the season. First-half goals from Jack Eades and Rory McAuley sealed the win and offered Cambridge hope for next season. "It was a fantastic performance, which tells you everything about the spirit in the camp," George told the club's official website. "It's a great credit to the players and staff, and it's a nice way to finish the season and thank the supporters for their fantastic backing all through the year. It's always better to do that after a win than a loss."
