George reveals player interest

Cambridge boss Jez George has revealed Adam Marriott and Michael Gash could both leave the club on loan deals this week.

Marriott featured for Bishop's Stortford in their 1-0 home defeat by Colchester last weekend and could join the Blue Square Bet North outfit on a month-long deal before their season opener at home to Halifax on Saturday.
"It's something we're considering and we're talking to them at the moment, but we'll know more when we know who's available for the weekend," said George.
"We can't recall someone for the first 28 days, so it's a balancing act because you don't know what might happen with injuries, but you also can't keep players not playing forever on the basis of 'what ifs?'."
A number of clubs have also shown interest in taking Gash on a temporary basis, with George expecting something to happen in the next few days.
