Darlington interim manager Craig Liddle says he does not want the job on a permanent basis, even if they avoid relegation this season.
Liddle has been in temporary charge of the club since October following the departure of Mark Cooper but says he does not want to keep the manager's position when the campaign is over.
He told BBC Tees: "I won't be manager of Darlington Football Club next year, that's for certain.
"If there's something in terms of youth development here I'll consider it."
Former Darlington defender Liddle has been unable to steer the side away from the Blue Square Bet Premier drop zone and the Quakers could be relegated from if they lose to Bath City on Saturday.
