Mellon in Fleetwood praise

Fleetwood boss Micky Mellon praised his players and chairman after his side gained promotion to the Football League for the first time.

The club were confirmed as champions of the Blue Square Bet Premier on Saturday after nearest rivals Wrexham were held to a draw and manager Mellon was quick to thank others for the success: "Any manager that's ever been successful will tell you that you have to have good players and I'm certainly blessed, Five or six years ago who would have thought we could do this?" The success of the club has been astonishing as they were only formed in 1997, though there had been two previous incarnations of the club since 1908 and the promotion to League Two was their fifth promotion in eight years.
